About Me
I have been a psychotherapist for over 30 years, specializing in eating disorders and food issues. I’ve also done some professional writing mostly about women, culture, food and mental health. You can find my blog posts on SixtyandMe.com.
One day in 2018 my intern suggested that I think about podcasting in order to share my message with a wider audience. A big believer in striking while the iron is hot, the next day I took my laptop to the home of Vicky Lane, a local woman fly fishing expert and volunteer. After that interview, I was hooked (no pun intended).
Zestful Aging is currently heard in 102 countries, in part because I am a media partner with the International Federation of Aging. I’ve interviewed some of their Conference presenters and those interviews are shared all over the world.
My hope for the Podcast is that it inspires and re-frames aging as a time of great opportunity and growth. Themes of resilience and humanitarianism shine through in almost every conversation. My diverse guests are contributing to the world using their unique gifts. The conversations go beyond the obvious sound bites; I make every attempt to have a deep, nuanced conversation and understand my guest’s motivations and fears.
As one of my renowned guests, Ashton Applewhite states, “Aging is living.” I hope the conversations bring richness and a fresh perspective to your life. It is my absolute pleasure to bring them to you.
Thank you for listening.
